RAPIDEX AGITATOR
-the Propeller agitator.

Applications:

Viscosity range up to 25,000 mPa×s. Mixing miscible liquids, dissolving solids that are unlikely to agglomerate, preventing precipitation, heat dispersion and high viscosity applications.

The budget axial mixing application solution:
The specially designed blades of the RAPIDEX marine type propeller ensures cavitation-free operation resulting in extremely intense agitation at a low power consumption. The smooth shape and finish of the RAPIDEX impeller blade make it very suitable for sanitary applications. Available in diameters from 110 mm to 800 mm.

Characteristics of the RAPIDEX:
Low tip speed / low power consumption
The power consumption of any mixing impeller is a result of the following parameters:

1.       Viscosity and specific gravity of the mix.
2.       Diameter, rpm and power number of the impeller.

The parameters of the mix itself may be given, whereas two parameters of the impeller can be varied so as to obtain a certain impeller tip speed. The combination of the speed (RPM) and the impeller diameter results in the actual tip speed. A high tip speed requires energy whereas a low tip speed will result in considerable energy savings. The table shows how the tip speed influence on the power consumptions of a RAPIDEX agitator.

Batch size 25 m3 25 m3 25 m3
Viscosity 50 mPa×s 50 mPa×s 50 mPa×s
Specific gravity 1.1 1.1 1.1
Impeller diam. 350 mm 475 mm 650 mm
Rotational speed 965 RPM 379 RPM 158 RPM
Tip speed 17.7 m/s 9.4 m/s 5.4 m/s
Flow rate 27.2 m3/s 26.7 m3/s 27.6 m3/s
Power consump. 8.9 kW 2.5 kW 0.9 kW

It is seen that the power consumption of example No. 3 is only one teenth of example No. 1, and the flow rate remains unchanged.
